OTT streaming platform just broke the world’s record for the only OTT platform to offer an Indian Sign Language version of the commercial film The Kashmir Files version.
Since its debut, Director Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files‘ has been making headlines due to one or another reason. The film resurrected the box office after the pandemic and quickly became an attention-grabbing movie. The film will premiere OTT debut in Zee5 on the 13th of May in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and even the Indian Sign Language.
As per the news18.com report, Zee5 organized a special screening of the film ‘The Kashmir Files” which was in Indian Sign Language in Mumbai that saw more than 500 people suffering from hearing impairments present. It was attended by Agnihotri as well as actor Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumaar. Zee5 has just set a new world record as one of the few OTT to launch a Bollywood commercial that is in Indian Sign Language, making it more accessible to deaf individuals to enjoy the content.

In announcing the initiative, Agnihotri said, “We are thrilled we could be proud that The Kashmir Files reached out to and resonated with many people from all over the world, and now, thanks to ZEE5’s original initiative, the film will be available not just with subtitles in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada but as well with Indian Sign Language. The story has to be told.”
He has also weighed in by saying “The Kashmir Files is a painful tale of suffering, pain, and battle. I think everyone should be aware of this tragic tale because it serves as a warning to the people around the world to unite and fight against brutal terrorist acts. It’s a reminder to live in peace and to make this world a better and safer place for us to be a part of. Since this film is personal to me I am very content to see that The Kashmir Files has reached our audience with special abilities and I am hoping to get lots of support from them”.

Additionally, Agnihotri has also arranged for The Kashmir Files’ show in Mumbai on the 13th of May. Directors Joshi and the director’s wife Joshi are also scheduled to perform at the concert.
The Kashmir Files’ was released on March 11 and was the first film after the pandemic to reach Rs 300 crore. The film stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumaar.
