Zee5 is now streaming ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘Attack’
The political drama The Kashmir Files and the action thriller Attack will make their television debuts on June 25 and 26, respectively, on Zee Cinema, the movie channel operated by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. The Kashmir Files, which is directed by Vivek Agnihotri, stars Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar, while John Abraham plays the protagonist in Attack. Undoubtedly, thanks to people working from home in recent years, mainstream movies have had remarkable satellite debuts. According to a trade website, Varun Dhawan’s Coolie No.1, which received harsh criticism from both audiences and reviewers upon its release on Amazon Prime Video, racked up over one crore impressions incredibly on Zee Cinema last year.
Impressions are the thousands of people in a target audience who watched an event on average over a period of minutes.
According to a recent Ficci EY analysis, movie channels were the second most watched genre after general entertainment in 2020 and contributed 24% to overall television viewership. According to broadcast industry experts, TV audiences haven’t had a chance to see these movies in theatres because of the pandemic’s impact on mobility and the fact that most people are staying at home. Additionally, small-town, mass-market viewers are more inclined to transition from streaming services to TV shows and movies.
As more people stay at home during the second wave of COVID infections and due to the availability of new films, television film channels are anticipated to have a 10–20% increase in viewing.
