Vijay Sethupathi quits Muthiah Muralitharan’s biopic 800
According to the latest updates, Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi quits Muthiah Muralitharan’s biopic, which titled 800. The Sri Lankan cricketer Muralitharan said that the film would cause harm to Vijay’s career and therefore he asked the actor to quit the biopic.
According to the Indian express, Muralitharan wrote a letter requesting Vijay Sethupathi to quit the biopic and he said he does not wish to be the reason for a great actor from TamilNadu getting affected.
Vijay Sethupathi on Monday shared Muralitharan‘s statement on Twitter and wrote, “thank you and goodbye.”

The controversy begins as soon as it was announced that Vijay will be playing Muralitharan who is a Sri Lankan Tamil. This is because Muralitharan is seen as a supporter of former Sri Lankan president Mahindra Rajapaksa who was ruling during the civil war. The war-affected Many Malayaga Tamils to a great extent.
Although, The film producers searching for another actor to pay Muralitharan in the biopic. The movie is all about Muralitharan’s journey to the cricket amid the war and facing many obstacles in his life.
