Tamil Nadu Seeks Ban on The Family Man 2
According to the latest updates, the Tamil Nadu government on Monday requested the center to take action against the release of the web series The Family Man 2. The government says the web series depicted the Eelam Tamils in a highly objectionable manner.
As per the sources, Tamilnadu Government wrote a letter to information and broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar and said that The Family Man season 2 release onOTT platform Amazon prime video must be stopped not just in Tamilnadu, but across the country.
The letter reads: I would like to bring to your notice about inappropriate, condemnable, and malicious contents of The Family Man 2 in Hindi that depicts the Eelam Tamils in a highly objectionable manner the trailer which was released on social media is aimed at distorting the historical struggle of Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka.
“Branding Tamil speaking actress Samantha Akkineni as a Terrorist in the serial is directly an attack on the pride of Tamils living around the world and no one will tolerate this kind of motivated and mysterious campaign”, Mr. Thangaraj said.
Raj and DK directorial series The Family Man 2 set to premiere on 4th June Amazon prime video. It stars Manoj Bajpayee, Priyamani, Samantha in lead roles.
