Saif Ali Khan Apologises for his Controversial Raavan Statement
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has issued an apology for causing hurt people’s sentiments about the role of Raavan.
While talking about Prabhas’ Adipurush, Saif had said,” we will make Raavan humane, up the entertainment quotient, justifying his abduction of Sita and war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha.”
The statement has caused controversy, and many Netizens demanded Bollywood director Om Raut to remove Saif as Lankesh from the movie.
According to the Times of India report, Saif had given a statement on Sunday that read as, “I have been made aware that one of my statements during an interview has caused controversy and hurt people’s sentiments, this was never my intention or meant that way. I would like to sincerely apologize to everybody and withdraw my statement. Lord Ram has always been the symbol of Righteousness and heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the entire team is working together to present the Epic without any distortions.”
Meanwhile, there are reports that Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh have also been cast in Adipurush in the roles of Sita and Lakshman respectively. However, an official update regarding the same is not yet out.
