RGV Murder film: Court orders not to release the movie

Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV controversial film ‘Murder’ gets a shock from the Telangana Court. A local court in Nalgonda ordered that the release of film Murder based on the real-life story of Miryalaguda woman Amrita be stopped immediately.

The special Court of SC/ST cases in Nalgonda district which heard a petition filed by Amrita and her in-laws gave an interim order stating that the movie was based on the real incidents that happened in Amrita’s life as it was evident from the posters on RGV Twitter account.

Shrikant Iyengar and Sahithi are playing the lead roles in Murder which is being made on Nattis entertainment banners. Ram Gopal Varma and filmmakers had planned to release the movie in theatres as soon as the theatres are opened.

Varma announced in June that he was making a movie on the story of Maruti Rao and his daughter. On the occasion of father’s day, he launched the first look first poster of Murder movie.

Amrita who lives with her in-laws had reacted strongly to RGV plans and vowed to fight a legal battle to stop the film screening.
