AR Rahman’s grand concert titled “Marakkuma Nenjam” took place on September 10, organized by ACTC Events. The highly anticipated event was held at Adityaram Studios in Chennai, attracting a large crowd of music enthusiasts. However, what was supposed to be a memorable night of music turned into chaos due to poor organization and mismanagement.
As the concert began, the venue quickly became overcrowded, leading to a stampede-like situation. The sheer number of people flocking to the location resulted in severe traffic issues, causing inconvenience to both concert-goers and local residents. To make matters worse, scores of women came forward with their harassment experiences during the event, further tarnishing the reputation of the organizers. According to officials, Hemanth Raja, the Managing Director of ACTC Events, along with two other individuals, has been booked under sections 188 and 406 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code). These charges reflect the alleged violation of public order and criminal breach of trust.
