Movie Ponniyin Selvan, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: 1 is an epic action movie in Tamil that was made in India under the direction of Mani Ratnam. The movie is scheduled to premiere on September 30. When Mani Ratnam was recently in Mumbai, he asked the multiplex chains to lower the price of the movie to Rs 100 merely in order to allow a wide audience to watch it. The action was taken in response to the Brahmastra producers’ announcement that they would be lowering ticket rates for Navratri. Brahmastra stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
According to the E-Times, Mani Ratnam recently visited Mumbai and spoke with multiplex chains about his desire for his film to only cost Rs 100 for viewers. Although it’s unclear if the theatre owners accepted his advice, they were shocked.
As previously said, audiences cited theatre owners as the cause of excessive ticket costs. It’s also one of the main causes of a decline in theatre attendance.
