The maiden production of famous Indian Cricketer M.S. Dhoni, LGM – Let’s Get Married, has finally hit the screens today in Telugu states. The movie stars Harish Kalyan and Ivana as the main characters and promises to be an entertaining ride. In this blog post, we will delve into the story and give you a review of this highly anticipated film.

Story:

The story revolves around Gautam (Harish Kalyan) and Meera (Ivana), a couple who have been dating for two years and decide to take their relationship to the next level by getting married. However, Meera is concerned about her future mother-in-law, Leela (Nadiya), and feels that life with her might not be easy.

To bridge the gap and establish a bond with her potential mother-in-law, Meera suggests a trip to Coorg with their families. The hope is that this trip will create an opportunity for Meera to get to know Leela better and for the families to connect. But as with any family trip, things don’t go as planned.

Gautam finds himself in the middle of chaos as the trip starts off on the wrong foot. The situation becomes even more complicated when Meera comes up with an alternative plan to fix the problems that have arisen. What is her plan, and will it bring their families closer together? Will Gautam and Meera be able to overcome the obstacles and finally tie the knot? To find out, you’ll have to watch the movie.

Plus points:

It is a simple and sweet story that explores the idea of compatibility in relationships as a main plus point. What sets this film apart from same genre films is the unique twist of checking for compatibility not just with your partner, but with your future mother-in-law as well. Harish Kalyan, known to Telugu audiences for his role in “Jersey,” delivers a charming performance on screen.

Playing a character torn between his mother and girlfriend, Kalyan impresses with his comedic timing and ability to bring both laughter and emotion to his role. His chemistry with co-star Ivana, who previously showcased her talent in “Love Today,” is evident as they portray a modern and bold couple. Ivana’s portrayal of Meera, a strong and independent woman, brings a fresh and relatable perspective to the story, and her comedic timing adds an extra layer of enjoyment.

Veteran actress Nadiya takes on a good role in the film, playing it subtly and adding depth to the overall narrative. Yogi Babu, known for his comic prowess, delivers laughs with his funny lines whenever he appears on the screen. Mirchi Vijay, Harish Kalyan’s sidekick, also contributes to the humor in the film. The dubbing in the movie is excellent, seamlessly blending with the Telugu language and making it feel like an authentic Telugu film experience.

Minus Points:

The story might have seemed exciting on paper, but it’s not that engaging on screen. The writer Ramesh Tamilmani could have added more interesting scenes between the lead female characters. The story drags, with unnecessary scenes in both halves that slow down things.

More compelling interactions between Nadiya and Ivana would have made things better. The director, Ramesh Tamilmani, also should have focused on the pacing, which is a tad slow. While Harish’s acting is decent, he could have emoted better in some crucial scenes. The drama between the lead pair is also a bit disappointing.

Yogi Babu and Deepa Kumari’s characters were not utilized to the fullest extent. Moreover, the songs are forgettable once you leave the theater. They lack the impact and catchiness that make a good soundtrack memorable.

Our Review:

On the whole, LGM – Let’s Get Married is a rom-com that has its moments, but falls somewhat short of being a complete package. While it boasts a good story, decent performances, and occasional moments of humor, it is marred by a slow pace and lengthy scenes that might leave viewers feeling a bit bored. However, if you don’t mind these aspects, it could still be a movie worth watching over the weekend, as long as you keep your expectations in check.
