“Lal Salaam” Starring Rajinikanth Postponed From Sankranthi!
Superstar Rajinikanth has been in the industry for decades and has given us some of the most iconic movies of all time. His fans eagerly await any news about him and his upcoming projects. It was recently announced that Rajinikanth will be seen in a special appearance in the upcoming film Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwarya.
Initially, Lal Salaam was supposed to be released during the Sankranthi festival in 2024, but it was later postponed to the Republic Day weekend. However, Vikram’s Thangalaan, which was also planned for the Republic Day weekend, was postponed, giving Lal Salaam the opportunity to lock this release date. Rajinikanth’s cameo in the film is said to be a crucial one.
Postponing the release to the Republic Day weekend was a wise decision from the makers of the film, as the Sankranthi festival is already packed with Telugu and Tamil biggies. Since the film has Rajinikanth in a cameo role and not as the lead, it might not have even gotten screens in Telugu had it released during Sankranthi. On the other hand, releasing it during the Republic Day weekend will ensure a big release in both Tamil and Telugu.

With Lal Salaam now postponed, Captain Miller, Aylaan, and Vijay Sethupathi’s Merry Christmas are the only films left in the Sankranthi lineup. Lal Salaam stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead and is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner Lyca Productions.
It is also said that after the stupendous success of Jailer, the role of Rajinikanth in the movie has been extended slightly, but it’s still a pretty limited one with a big impact.
