‘I dedicate this award to my Bus driver’, Rajinikanth on receiving Dadasaheb Phalke Award
Superstar Rajinikanth has received the Dadasaheb Phalke award at the 67th National Film awards ceremony in Delhi. He was bestowed with the 51st Dada Saheb Phalke award. After receiving the award Rajnikanth in his speech, he thanked his mentor and Director K Balachander, his brother Satyanarayana Gaikwad and his old friend and colleague Bus Driver Raj Bahadur. The actor Remembered his old friend Raj Bahadur the bus driver, who he worked with as bus conductor.
In a thanksgiving speech, Rajinikanth said, “I am extremely happy to receive this prestigious award and my heartfelt thanks to the central government for honouring me with Dada Saheb Phalke award. I dedicate this award to my Guru K Balachander sir. And my brother Satyanarayana Gaikwad who is like my father for taught me great values. And also my thanks to my friend and colleague Raj Bahadur who was a bus driver. When I was the bus conductor in Karnataka he was the one who identified the actor in me and motivated me to join the film industry.”

Rajinikanth’s friend Raja Bahadur felt very happy about the Actor receiving the award. He said in an interview with National Media, he said that he was the first person who discover his talent.

On the other side, Rajinikanth daughter Aishwarya is very happy as her father Rajinikanth and her husband Dhanush historic achievement at National Film awards 2021 ceremony. It is known that Dhanush won the National award for best acting in his film Asuran. Dhanush shared his award with actor Manoj Bajpai who was also declared the best actor for the Bhonsle movie. This happens to be the first time that to award has gone to the same family(Rajnijanth and Dhanush). Kangana Ranaut received the best actress award for the film Manikarnika. The awards were presented by vice president M Venkaiah Naidu.
