In a disappointing turn of events, the Teja Sajja-starrer adventure fantasy drama, HanuMan, touted as the first Indian superhero film based on the legend of Lord Hanuman, has fallen victim to online piracy. The movie, written and directed by Prasanth Varma, garnered attention and anticipation but faced piracy within three hours of its theatrical release during the Sankranti Festival 2024. This illegal act threatens the film’s potential success as unauthorized links to HanuMan’s leaked content proliferate on the internet.
Synopsis of HanuMan
The narrative follows Hanumanthu (Teja Sajja), an aimless youngster in Anjanadri, cared for by his sister Anjamma (Varalaxmi). His life takes a supernatural turn when he acquires extraordinary powers after finding Rudhiramani made with a drop of Lord Hanuman’s blood. Hanumanthu employs these powers to protect the people of Anjanadri and thwart the antagonist’s quest.
Box Office and Reception
Despite the piracy setback, HanuMan received a thunderous response from both audiences and critics after its theatrical release on January 12. The film competes successfully with Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, and its box office performance is eagerly anticipated.
