Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh seek advice from the lawyers, after NCB issue summons in the drugs case
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday issued summons to the Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rakul Preet Singh in a drug case. Deepika Padukone has been asked summoned on September 25. Shraddha and Sara Ali Khan asked to appear on September 26, as per the sources.
The NCB had on Tuesday summoned Deepika’s manager Karishma Prakash and KWAN talent agency’s Dhruv Chitgopekar, but Karishma could not appear before the agency due to ill health.
According to the Republic TV source, Deepika Padukone is putting pressure on her manager Karishma to not reveal the details about drugs to the NCB. Deepika after receiving the summons, she had contacted a 12 member legal team in Mumbai via video conference to seek advice. Deepika’s husband Ranveer Singh also joined the video call with the lawyers, sources added.
It is known that Deepika Padukone’s name had emerged in one of the WhatsApp chats where the actor is allegedly asking for Maal (Drugs). The WhatsApp chats are from October 2017.
Apart from Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh have also been summoned by NCB for questioning. It is all started with probe regarding Sushant Singh Rajput’ death case.
The NCB has so far arrested a total of 16 accused in the drugs case including Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother showik Chakraborty, and Sushant Singh Rajput’s staff members.
