Story

Bhagavanth Kesari (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is at the heart of this gripping story, a guy with a mysterious past who is confined yet morally unbreakable. When he becomes the guardian of Vijaya Lakshmi (Sree Leela), the daughter of his jailer (R Sarathkumar), his life takes an unexpected turn. Nelakonda Bhagavanth Kesari desires that Vijji grow courageous and strong. He has a good motive for wanting her to join the Indian Army. Viji, on the other hand, is uninterested. Meanwhile, Rahul Sanghvi (Arjun Rampal) is on the hunt for her for a compelling cause. What drives his interest in Viji? What do Bhagavanth Kesari and Vijji have in common? Was Bhagavanth previously acquainted with Rahul Sanghvi? Has Viji joined the Army? All of these questions will be revealed in the movie.

Plus Points

Bhagavanth Kesari, directed by Anil Ravipudi, featured a star-studded ensemble cast that included Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sree Leela, Kajal Aggarwal, and Arjun Rampal. The film’s central theme is the empowerment of young girls, and it smoothly blends aspects of action, emotion, and compelling speech.

Balakrishna’s portrayal of Bhagavanth Kesari is nothing short of fascinating. He seamlessly shifts from his legendary larger-than-life nature to the deep emotional depth required for his character’s connection with Vijji. The on-screen relationship between Balakrishna and Sree Leela, who play Chicha and Vijji, works beautifully and strikes a chord with the viewers.

Sree Leela’s portrayal of Vijji is excellent. Her transformation from a sensitive teenager struggling with anxiety to a confident and strong-willed young woman is represented with excellence. She not only embraces her character but also soars through her action moments, making an indelible impression. Kajal Aggarwal, who plays Kaachi, brings her charm to the character. As the merciless antagonist, Arjun Rampal oozes refinement and style. Other actors who played supporting roles included R Sarathkumar, Muralidhar Goud, Brahmaji, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Raghu Babu, and others who acted well.

Thaman’s powerful background score once again proves his ability to enhance the action and emotional sequences. The photography and production values add to the overall visual appeal of Bhagavanth Kesari, making it a delightful watch.

Minus points

The plot is predictable and lacking in depth. The majority of the plot is revealed in the first half, leaving only little possibility for surprises in the second half. The second half is heavily reliant on flashbacks, which do not strongly support the storyline.

The second half should have been scripted better, with more intriguing sequences to keep the audience’s attention. Several moments in the second half, however, may become boring.

Balakrishna’s look in the promotional material is terrific and suits him, but he looks weird in another outfit kept under wraps for the theatre experience. Anil Ravipudi should have represented this avatar better.

Kajal Aggarwal’s role contributes little to the film, and her sequences with Balakrishna are underwhelming. This film contains only a few of Anil Ravipudi’s characteristic comedic sequences.

Arjun Rampal makes his Tollywood debut in this film, and he’s all ok but not amazing. However, Anil Ravipudi could have given him a more evil portrayal.

Although the action moments are entertaining, they could have been more convincing, particularly towards the climax. The visual effects fall short of expectations, and greater care should have been taken to ensure their excellence.

Bhagavanth Kesari Review

Overall, Bhagavanth Kesari is a compelling blend of action and emotional drama, propelled by outstanding performances from Balakrishna and Sreeleela. Their chemistry is a joy to behold, especially in emotional scenes. However, the film’s overall flow is hampered by a sluggish second half and a few unnecessary scenes. Fans will enjoy Balakrishna’s captivating screen presence and striking dialogues. You can confidently select to see this picture over the weekend for a satisfying movie experience.
