Despite facing major VFX backlash and poor reviews, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush had a historic start at the box office. The rebel star’s stardom made sure an earth-shattering start for the Om Raut directorial.
Beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Adipurush become the biggest pan-Indian opener of 2023 on day 1. While the final figures are yet to come in, early estimates have it that Adipurush has minted Rs 62 crore at the box office on day 2. Now, the total collection stands at Rs 153 crore.
Adipurush already broke records on its opening day. However, as is the case with most major motion pictures, the Telugu version of the film experienced a significant dip in collections on day two. Meanwhile, the Hindi version of the movie is still going strong, bringing in around Rs 35 crore. According to reports, the Telugu version of Adipurush brought in between Rs 55 to Rs 60 crore on its opening day, which is an impressive feat, to say the least. However, the collections in the other three languages, namely Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, are negligible.
Despite the impressive opening day collections, Adipurush has seen a decline of 35-33% from day one’s 93 crores. This is not entirely unexpected, as most movies tend to experience a dip in collections on the second day. However, it remains to be seen how the film will fare in the coming days.
It’s difficult to predict the movie’s future at this time, and it will be fascinating to watch how Monday does, given that Sunday is anticipated to show an increase in collections. Prabhas’ fans are eagerly waiting to see him in action on the big screen, and it’s safe to say that the actor has delivered yet another impressive performance.
